Macaca radiata (Bonnet Macaque)

We have all been exactly here. You wake up, realize your posture has been absolutely terrible lately, and suddenly decide that today is the day you become a "yoga person." This macaque is entirely embodying that universal struggle. Perched on a makeshift wooden structure, he is currently caught in what looks like a deeply regrettable attempt at a seated hamstring stretch. The intense, questioning concentration on his face as he examines his foot screams, "Is my leg supposed to bend this way?" or perhaps, "Did I just pull a muscle literally just sitting here?" It’s a beautifully backlit portrait of immediate, physical regret. I love how the gorgeous, cinematic bokeh in the background completely contrasts with the sheer awkwardness happening right in the foreground. Honestly, seeing a literal monkey casually struggle with flexibility makes me feel significantly better about my own attempts to touch my toes.
